Ex-situ Indirect Thermal Desorption
The indirect thermal desorption is an ex-situ remediation technology suitable for eliminating volatile/semi-volatile organic compounds. Compared to the direct heating process, indirect heating does not destroy the contaminants (oxidation, decomposition) and the soil can be re-used post remediation.

("Orbite") and Veolia Environmental Services ("Veolia") signed an exclusive worldwide collaborative agreement for the treatment and recycling of red mud generated by industrial alumina production using the Bayer process. The Groupe SEB, Veolia and Eco-systèmes develop first partnership which creates a complete circular economy cycle for small household appliances: the waste collected by Eco-systèmes is recovered by Veolia as recycled raw material, which is then used by Groupe SEB to manufacture new appliances sold in stores. The first concrete application is a steam generator.
